Nigel’s focus has always been at the nexus of technology and business, working with organisations that use technology as a transformation enabler. He has lead and grown UK and international business and business units ranging from $500k to >$100m in roles up to CEO level. Nigel’s strengths are in strategy, business development and leadership support.
Nigel is an experienced Scale-Up Executive.
His key strengths include establishing a clear agreed strategy and delivering through strong leadership, customer and sales focus, operational discipline, robust processes, tight commercial, financial, IT & HR management; and active engagement with staff, customers and stakeholders.
He is a resilient, driven and intentional leader; expert in rescue and scale-up in diverse complex international and culturally diverse environments to deliver significant ROI and shareholder value. Nigel has a participative “get things done” style, with a clear sense of purpose and urgency and a rare mixture of strategy, sales, commercial, financial and operational skills.
He has significant international experience across Europe (East and West), Asia Pacific and the USA predominantly in the ICT and Professional Services fields; focused at both the public and private sectors. Nigel moved into leadership and advisory through a range of increasingly senior roles with organizations including LBMS, Logica/CGI, Endava, Whitespace and SoftIron; and has been based in the UK, Hong Kong, Belgium and Romania/Moldova with significant global travel.
Over the years clients have included blue-chip companies such as Unilever, Exxon, Boots, Sainsbury’s, GSK, Merck, Marks & Spencer, HSBC, Standard Chartered, United Utilities, ESA; a range of central and local government departments; and numerous early-stage companies.
Proposition Building, Positioning & Marketing
Mike’s focus has always been on the proposition, marketing and business development aspects of technology-focused businesses. He has worked to ‘C’ level with hardware, software and professional services organisations globally and is equally comfortable working with a start-up as with a corporate. Mike’s strengths are in marketing strategy, proposition building and sales-lead business development.
Mike has had a long and successful career that has covered all aspects of marketing and business development in the broadest sense.
Most recently he was the Vice President Marketing, International Division for a US-based global technology company. He drove the marketing direction, developed multi-country propositions and supported colleagues in business development activities across the globe. In additional to being part of the international management team, his global marketing responsibilities also covered a number of vertical markets. As part of this role he also successfully planned and executed the re-branding of acquired entities that were rolled up into the parent.
Prior to this Mike was the head of Marketing and Alliances for a European systems integrator with 60m GBP revenue operating in five countries with 600 employees. Key responsibilities included marketing, creating and managing group-wide strategic alliances, internal communications, and investor relations/public relations.
Operational Excellence and Governance
David’s focus has been on the operational aspects of organisations, putting in the rigour required to support growth whilst minimising risk. He spent 17 years as CEO leading a high performing, highly admired UK PLC, growing the mkt. cap by 800% before moving into advisory. David’s strengths are in operations and governance.
David has been the established leader of a main market PLC of a highly successful market leading company. With 35 years in the aviation industry this knowledge, experience and wisdom has real depth. As CEO for 17 years his strengths include vision setting, strategy definition and execution, business cohesion, sales development, investor relations and value creation.
His career included building a global premium brand in the niche market of private jets and commercial aircraft charter. This was manifested in opening over 20 offices around the world, signing and delivering on over £2bn in of sales contracts, many operated in the most extreme operational environments, and most at extremely short notice. David is therefore a “Do it to the best of your ability, efficiently, effectively, profitably, and do it now" person.
He has spent decades conducting highly confidential work on flagship business to 4 British Prime Ministers, The Royal Family, The White House, and most Government Ministries. He was also depended on by the MoD, SAS, MI5, FBI and the CIA. In 2004 he was personally granted a Royal Warrant from Her Majesty The Queen.
